PENN Slammer IV Spinning Reel

The heavy-duty Penn Slammer IV reels are built off the proven IPX6 sealed body and spool for fantastic water resistance, with an added hydrophobic line roller that repels water better than the previous models.

Penn have also redesigned the Dura-Drag system in the Slammer IV reels to not only be better sealed, but also offer a wider range of usable drag. All models feature the Dura-Drag system with carbon fibre washers, other than the smallest 2500 sized reels which have HT-100 drag technology with carbon fibre washers within them.

There's a reel for all types of fishing in the Penn Slammer IV spinning reel range, from live baiting in the surf and spinning from the rocks, to deepwater jigging and switch baiting a billfish.

Features:

• IPX6 Sealed - the Slammer’s renowned IPX6 sealing is improved further by an additional seal under the rotor before the labyrinth seal, and a change in the way the drag is sealed to offer a reduced minimum drag for improved low-end smoothness.
• Hydrophobic Line Roller - repels saltwater better than previous models.
• Brass CNC Gear Technology - State of the art Computer Numerical Control technology machines gears out of a solid piece of metal, ensuring exact alignment, smooth long-term performance and cranking torque rigidity when trying to get that last wind on a hard fighting fish.
• Dura-Drag System - Silky smooth Dura-Drag carbon fibre washers eliminate hesitation even under extreme drag settings, and are impregnated with a Phenolic bonding agent to reduce wear and water intrusion.
• HT-100 Drag System - The new small but tough 2500 size features HT-100™ carbon fibre drag washers with PENN’s proprietary heat-dispersing grease, the ‘100’ indicating that 100 miles of line can be pulled of the reel with no wear on the washers.
• Full Metal body, sideplate and rotor - to minimise body flex in sizes 3500-10500.
• Full Metal body and sideplate, graphite rotor - to reduce weight in the smaller 2500 sizes
• Reduced Rotor Weight - for smoother operation
• Machined aluminium power knob and spare EVA knob across the range
• Automatic Bail Trip - on 2500-5500 sizes
• Manual Bail Trip - on 6500-10500 sizes
• Braid Ready - To eliminate slippage and the need to use monofilament backing before spooling, the Slammer IV features a textured rubber gasket at the base of the spool to tie your braid directly onto.
• Superline Spool - No backing needed because the rubber gasket keeps superline from slipping.
• Instant Anti-Reverse - Eliminates rotor backplay for instant hook sets.
• Techno Balanced - gives smooth retrieves.
• Line Capacity Rings - Line capacities on spool are marked at 1/3rd, 2/3rd and full capacity.
• Leveline - The perfect oscillation for an extremely even line lay.
